Deputy Collector Adjudication Asma issue notices in smuggling cases

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Collectorate Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued show cause notices to different parties in four cases.

Sources told Customs Today, that all these cases were submitted by Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Mianwali and Sara-e-Muhajir, Faisalabad, and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad. The smuggled items, including Toyota Vitz Car bearing registration no: AAA-773 (Sibi), Toyota Super Custom Van no: WAJ-929, Toyota Corolla car bearing no: IDH-9727, and foreign origin tyres, with smuggled vehicle no: 7188 being used for smuggling transportation were confiscated by the customs authorities under the customs laws. After making seizures, the information reports have been forwarded to the Faisalabad Customs Adjudication.

Deputy Collector Asma Hameed  issued one show cause notice to Jawad Khan involved in smuggling of Toyota Vitz car, Safdar Khan, involved in smuggling of Toyota Super Custom van, Hammad Sarwar brought a smuggled vehicle Toyota Corolla car in country without payment of customs duty and taxes, while Munawar Hussain accused in foreign origin tyres smuggling case.

Deputy Collector Asma Hameed also directed the department to depute seizure officers to attend proceedings in the court on scheduled date along with relevant record.
