Deputy Collector Adjudication Hasan Farid issues ONO in favor of ASO

LAHORE: Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Mohammad Hasan Farid issued Order-in-Orginal (ONO) in favour of Customs Preventive Anti Smuggling Organization.

Brief facts of the case that ASO team intercepted a Mitsubishi Pajero Jeep bearing registration no. LOP-196 near Ichra Bazar Ferozepur Road. The person claimed the ownership of the vehicle and identified himself as Arif Javed son of Muhammad Hussain. On demand the said owner failed to produce any leal documentary evidence showing legal import or auction of the said intercepted jeep.

The ASO team impounded the vehicle and after registering a case against the owner forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.

Deputy Collector Mohammad Hasan Farid issued show cause notice to the owner of the vehicle directing him to bring legal documents of the vehicle and explain his point of view, but neither owner nor his counsel appear in person before the deputy collector.

After examining the whole case Deputy Collector Mohammad Hasan Farid issued ONO in favour of Customs Preventive ASO by declaring confiscation of the said vehicle as legal.
