Deputy Collector Asma declares seizure of Toyota Passo legal

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued Order in Original (ONO) in favour of Mianwali Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) by declaring the confiscation vehicle lawful.

As per details, Mianwali ASO intercepted a Toyota Passo  car bearing registration no: ARA-925 (Sindh-Karachi) and asked the owner Amjad Ali son of Assmar Ali to produce the documents showing the legal import of the vehicle but he remained fail.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle under Section 2(s) read with Section 168 of the Custom Act, 1969 and with Import and Export Act, 1950 punishable under Section 156 (I) 89(i) of Custom Act, 1969. Later, the case was forward to adjudication.

However, the accused person did not appear before the court. But Inspector Azhar Hussain Jafri appeared before the adjudication authority on the behalf of customs. Therefore, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued ordered no: 94/2017 declaring the seizure of Toyota car as legal.
