Deputy Collector Asma Hameed declares seizure of Titan truck legal

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favor of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad.

Sources informed Customs Today that superintendent ASO seized foreign origin Titan truck bearing registration number. WHF-101272 model 2001 sky blue colour. The vehicle was brought into country without payment of customs duty and taxes.

During the proceedings of the case, the owner of the vehicle, identified as Muhammad Zahid son of Muhammad Saddiq, stated that he  purchased the truck cabin from Kashmir Autos Badami Bagh Lahore. While he failed to produced any legally documents.

Khalid Ashraf Noor (inspector) appeared from the prosecution and stated that chassis number of the vehicle is found invisible which clearly indicates that the seized vehicle is smuggled one. The respondents neither produce any documentary evidence in their support nor submitted.

Therefore, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favor of anti-smuggling organization and declared the seizure of the truck as legal.
