FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to the owner of a non-duty paid truck bearing registration no. 8345 and generator 80KVA. The Customs Intelligence authorities seized the vehicle and generator during an intelligence based operation near dry port Jumra Road Faisalabad
The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence team intercepted a truck near dry port Jumra Road for checking and asked the driver and owner of the smuggled vehicle, Mohammad Baber and Mohammad Ayub, to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle but they failed to produce the documents.
Therefore, the Customs officials impounded the truck and sent the case to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action against the suspect. Now, the authority has issued notices to the accused persons on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.
However, the Customs Adjudication has directed the suspect to file his reply by given time. The cases of the vehicle might be decided in the next hearing.
