Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issues ONO in favour of AFU Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Deputy Collector Adjudication Asma Hameed has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favour of the Air Freight Unit (AFU) Faisalabad.

Sources told to Customs Today that the customs AFU seized foreign origin liquor of Red Label brand from a suspect, Raja Muhammad Zaka, who is a resident of mohallah Goora Mandi Bahaudin.  It is clear that the seized liquor was prohibited and brought into country without payment of any duty.

The AFU authorities seized the liquor and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for proceedings. During the hearing of the case, no one appeared on behalf of the respondents nor any written reply had been received from respondents despite giving opportunities to be heard.

After hearing the arguments, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed  issued ONO in favour of the AFU Faisalabad and declared the seizure of liquor as legal under section 156(1)8 and 9 of the customs act 1969.
