Deputy Collector Asma issues notice to cell phones’ smuggler

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to the owner of non-duty paid mobile phone sets and accessories.

As per details, Customs staff seized 61 smuggled mobile phones without packing and slandered accessories recovered from a passenger who arrived at Faisalabad International Airport from Dubai through Fly Dubai

The accused passenger named Gul Riaz Khan son of Agha Farukh Humayun Khan had fail to show documents regarding legal import of the cell phones; therefore, the officials seized the mobile phones under Section 168 of Customs Act, 1969 and violation of Section 2(s), read with SRO 566(1)/2005 Section 16, 18, 139, 157(1), and 178.

Later, the customs authorities forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication where Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued show cause notice to accused person.

Asma Hameed also directed the seizing officer concerned or other officers to attend the hearing on the schedule date along with relevant record.
