Deputy Collector Asma issues ONO in favour of Faisalabad ASO

FAISALABAD: Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Asma Hameed issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favour of the Anti-Smuggling Organization Faisalabad.

A team of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) intercepted a Isuzu truck with registration No: TKX-439 loaded with foreign origin (F/O) auto-parts, HTV auto with Hub 10 stud each (10-pieces), Tube HTV auto (1-piece), Wheel HTV auto (1-piece), Front Axel Hub HTV auto (7-piece) and spring leave HTV auto (11-pieces) were being transported from Faisalabad to Rawalpindi. The smuggled auto parts were being smuggledt into country without payment of customs duty and taxes through unauthorized way.

Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

The customs apprehended the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Muhammad Rizwan son of Muhammad Nadir, a resident of Razabad Faisalabad.

The customs asked the driver to produce the documents regarding the import of vehicle but he failed to do so. The seizure report along with the enclosures was submitted to the adjudication authority.

During the proceedings, respondent Hassan Zafar son of Zafar Saleem (owner) has shown willingness to pay duty and taxes against the seized goods. After the hearing, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued ONO in favour of the ASO Faisalabad. She also warned the accused of exercising due care in future while booking transportation of suspicious goods.
