Deputy Collector Hassan Farid declares seizure of Honda Civic legal

LAHORE:  Deputy Collector of Customs Adjudication Mohammad Hasan Farid has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) 230/233/2017 by declaring impounding of non duty paid Honda Accord car as legal.

Brief facts of the case as reported by the Superintendent Anti Smuggling Organization Lahore vide Contravention Report No. 82/2017 stated that in pursuant to an information on 20.3.2017 are that, the anti smuggling staff intercepted a Honda Civic bearing registration plate number LZR-261 near Punjab College, Lahore. The person available on the driving seat claimed the ownership of the above said car and introduced himself as Sohail Anjum son of Ali Akbar Ajum Elahi Park Lahore. On demand the said owner failed to provide any documentary evidence showing legal import of the said intercepted car.

Therefore, examination of the said car was conducted in presence of the said owner and others witnesses which revealed that the owner did not have any legal documents regarding possession and import of vehicle. After his failure ASO team forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication department. During proceeding no one appear from the respondents side to defend the charges.

Therefore Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Mohammad Hassan Farid declared the seizure of Honda Civic car as legal.
