Deputy Collector Inamullah Wazir’s Customs JIAP recovers smuggled goods worth Rs50m

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) team under the supervision of Deputy Collector Inamullah Wazi seized smuggled goods worth Rs60 million during last two days.

Sources told that customs team intercepted a parcel containing 7 antique coins as confirmed by the archeology department. Valuation process is still in progress. The parcel was booked from Chaniot post office for Sharjah, UAE.

 

Another parcel was intercepted by Karachi airport customs staff containing 300 psychotropic tablets (drugs) booked from Gulbarg Lahore post office for Hong Kong. DEC staff detected these posts/Parcel at IMO post office Faisal Base Sharah e Faisal. Karachi.

 

It is necessary to mention here that Deputy Collector Inamullah Wazir directed customs teams deputed at Jinnah International Airport to enhance vigilance and checking of suspects passengers on arrival and departure lounges. He directed to adopted zero tolerance policy against smuggling and anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
