DC Moazzam Raza instructs superintendents, inspectors to follow uniform code

LAHORE: Deputy Collector Headquarters Customs Muhammad Moazzam Raza has instructed all customs superintendents, deputy superintendents and inspectors shall wear proper uniform with name plates and customs emblems while other guideline was also given.

The Staff is required to maintain highest degree of punctuality and regularity and should arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of their shift. The shift being relieved will not leave their duty till the next shift has arrived to take their place.

It was no Inspector from gates shall be allowed to work in the departure or arrival halls without approval of the AC/DC in charge. Any deviance shall be viewed very seriously and disciplinary proceedings may be initiated against the delinquent officer. Any repeated incident shall entail similar action against superintendent.

It is the duty of the superintendents arrivals to ensure rummaging, patrolling of air crafts and keep physical presence at the gates and report the same to the deputy collector in charge.

It is the responsibility of both superintendents (arrival & departure) to brief the deputy collector. AIIAP (Traffic) regarding any absence in their shift, they would ensure the attendance of each individual in their shift including staff posted at the gates.

Vigilance, Currency & Drug Detection unit:- Inspector Rashid Munir will supervise the working of Vigilance, currency & drug detection unit, Inspectors Raza Tufail, Ashfaq Ahmad, Tariq Baig and Mansab Ali Dogar will perform duties in Vigilance, Currency & Drug Detection Unit.

  • This dedicated unit will work 24/7 for intelligence gathering and successful anti smuggling operations with special focus on currency, gold and drug smuggling, rummaging and will provide support to shift in charges.
  • All departure staff will also perform CFO duty and at currency declaration counters as assigned by the superintendent shift in-charge.
  • Superintendents in charge arrival will be responsible for rummaging of aircrafts and to ensure presence of officials posted at airport gates (catering, cargo + project and Hajj Gates)
  • In charge vigilance unit is directed to ensure patrolling and strict checking on the movement of cargo, Baggage and persons on the apron side.
  • Superintendents in charge departure/arrival will monitor the working of customs staff and ensure implementation of customs laws, supervise all kinds of anti smuggling activities and Duty Free Shops located in the International Arrival / Departure halls and will ensure that the due procedure is being followed In this regard. • Iftikhar Ahmad would be incharge of the Grill.
  • Tariq Ameer would be incharge of Adjudication Branch. •Syed Imran Saeed would look after bonds section in addition to his assigned duties.
