Deputy Collector Mrs Aneeqa Afzal resumes duty after staying abroad for one year scholarship

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Collector Mrs Aneeqa Afzal joined back her duties at Customs Collectorate after staying abroad for one year on scholarship.

Collector Dr. Arslan told Customs Today that Mrs Aneeqa represented her department for this scholarship of one year abroad.

He said that it is good practice of Federal Board of Revenue to send intelligent officers for training abroad, in this way the officers can get more knowledge about there professional needs and can understand mordent techniques to cope with unlawful activities like offending vehicle, smuggling activities and to impound non customs paid vehicles.

Regarding performance of Customs Collectorate during the month of October he said that performance of Customs Collectorate regarding collection of customs duty against set target for month of October 2016-17 was excellent, adding that during month of October, Dry Port Islamabad also exceeded in collection of customs duty by collecting Rs.261 million against the target given by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for month of October 2016-17.

He said that during month of October 2016-17 Customs Collectorate collected Rs.407 million by collecting Rs.411.57 million against Rs.378 million collected in corresponding period of last year 2015-16. He said that there is short fall in collection of taxes.

He said that Customs Collectorate is not yet given target of revenue collection of month of November but he sure that Customs Collectorate will be exceeded its next given target for month of November 2016-17 with guidance of Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib and Member Customs Nasir Masoor Ahmad.
