Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz issues notice to owner of non-duty paid tyres

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz has served show-cause notice on Mohammad Rizwan, who is allegedly involved in tyres smuggling case.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization impounded a Mazda mini truck and recovered 28 tyres after the owner failed to show document regarding legal import of the tyres.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to Muhammad Rizwan on the violation of Section 10-A 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act 1969. The accused is asked to explain why the impounded tyres should not be confiscated under aforementioned provisions of law.

However, the adjudication has directed the accused persons to file their replies by given time before the authority.
