Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz summons owner of NDP goods on May 28

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz on Thursday served show-cause notice to a suspect through the Customs Intelligence and Investigation who is allegedly involved in a Suzuki pickup smuggling case.

As per details, the deputy collector issued notice to Muhammad Saddique who is owner of the vehicle. The intelligence team impounded the Suzuki pickup bearing registration No: JGA-8786 after the driver failed to show document regarding legal import of the vehicle.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to Muhammad Saddique on the violation of Section 10-A 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act 1969. The accused were also called upon to show cause as to why the impounded vehicle should not be confiscated under aforementioned provisions of law.

However, the adjudication has directed the accused persons to file their replies by given time before the authority. The case might be decided in next hearing that will be held in 28-5-2018.
