Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz issues ONO in favor of ASO Jhang

FAISALABAD: The Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Saima Ayyaz has issued Order in original (ONO) in favor of Anti-Smuggling Organization Jhang.

According to details, a team of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) intercepted a used Mitsubishi Pajero bearing registration no KSA-600. The smuggled vehicle was brought into the country without payment of customs duty and taxes through unauthorized way.

The Customs team arrested the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Faisal Abbas son of Mehmoob Ahmed who is a resident of Mianwali.

The Customs team asked the driver to produce documents regarding import of vehicle, but he failed to produce the lawful proof regarding legal possession of the above said vehicle.

The particular of the vehicle were checked on the website and found not tallied. The in-charge of PRAL Customs Dry Port informed that the vehicle having chassis number was not imported in the country. Seizure report along with enclosures is being submitted to adjudication authority for adjudication.

During the proceedings, Superintendent Tanveer Naqvi was appeared from the petitioner side and no one was appeared from the respondent side. The case was decided on the basis of the facts and material available. After hearing the case deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz issued ONO No 59\2018 in favor of ASO Jhang under section 156(1)89 of the Customs Act 1969.
