Deputy Collector Saima issues notice in impounded Land Cruiser case

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz has issued a show cause notice to the suspect who is allegedly involved in smuggling of Toyota Land Cruiser.

As per details, the jhang Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) signalled to stop a Toyota Land Cruiser bearing registration no: BD-3970 and the driver did not stop and escaped. The ASO staff started chasing the vehicle and held it. But the driver fled away from the scene.

ASO Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi along with his team impounded the vehicle and sent the case to case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Therefore, Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz issued notice to suspect Dara son of Manzoor on the violation of Section 10-A 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. The adjudication also directed the person to file his before next date of hearing.

Saima Ayaz also directed the customs officials to submit reply in the impounded vehicle case for further proceedings. She also directed ASO Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani to attend the hearing on the scheduled date along with relevant record.
