Deputy Collector Saima issues notice in non-duty paid vehicle

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz served a show cause notice on a suspect through the Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation who allegedly involved in Mitsubishi Pajero smuggling case.

As per details, the deputy collector issued notice to Muhammad Azhar who is owner of the vehicle. The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded the Mitsubishi Pajero bearing registration no: 9339 after the driver failed to show document regarding legal import of the vehicle.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to Muhammad Azhar on the violation of Section 10-A 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act 1969. The accused were also called upon to show cause as to why the impounded vehicle should not be confiscated under aforementioned provisions of law.

However, the adjudication has directed the accused persons to file their replies by given time before the authority. The case might be decided in next hearing that will be held after Eid holidays.
