Deputy Collector Saima orders to release goods after payment of penalty

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz directed to release the impounded foreign origin almond oil and fuel filter cobra spray and Hino truck after issuance of Order in Original by the Customs Adjudication on 9-05-2018.

Sources told Customs Today that Anti-Smuggling Organization intercepted a Hino truck and recovered almond oil and fuel filter cobra spray worth Rs456811.

The smuggled items were being transported from Malakand to Sara-i Muhajir. The seizing agency impounded the items and vehicle along with goods under Section 168 of the Customs Act 1969 and forwarded the case to the adjudication department for further legal action.

After hearing of the seizure case, deputy collector issued ONO No 63/2018 and gave directions for release of said goods.

At least 20% fine was imposed on owner Abdul Jabbar under section 181 of the Customs Act 1969 as penalty for release of items.
