Deputy Collector Saima summons owner of NDP Toyota Corolla on May 29

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz has issued a show cause notice to owner of non-duty paid Toyota Corolla car.

As per details, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation team intercepted a Toyota Corolla X car bearing registration no: AAN-517 near Gutwala Sheikhpura Road Faisalabad.

The team asked the owner of the vehicle who introduced himself as Abdul Saeed to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle but he could not produce the same. Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle under customs laws and forwarded case to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Now, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued notice to the accused person on the violation of Section 10-A 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act 1969 punishable under Section 156 (1) 89, and called the accused person to show cause as to why the said vehicle should not be confiscated under aforementioned provisions of the law.

However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file reply on next date of hearing. The seizing agency has also been directed to file reply in the respective case. The respondent may appear in person or through his accredited representative before deputy collector on May 29.

The adjudication authority also directed Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani to attend the hearing on schedule date along with relevant record.
