Deputy Colletor Mahwish Shah directs RTO-I to verify industrial status of M/s Superior Fabrics

KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West, Deputy Collector Group-IV, Mahwish Shah, has asked the deputy commissioner and the Regional Tax Office-I (Inland Revenue) to verify the industrial/manufacturing status of M/s Superior Fabrics (Private) Limited.

The official sources told Customs Today that M/s Superior Fabrics Lahore imported consignments of various type of textile fabric and claimed concessionary rate of sales tax as admissible to manufacturer/industrial undertaking under the provision of SRO 1125(1)/2011 dated 31.12.2011. The benefits of claimed concessionary rate of sales tax under SRO 1125(1)/2011 dated 31.12.2011 has been extended to the importer-cum-manufacturer.

It is again requested that updated physical verification/survey of the aforesaid unit may please be conducted confirming whether the aforesaid unit is involved in manufacturing activities of textile made-ups/garments and what kind of goods/items are being produced, sources added.

“Whether manufacturing capability commensurate with the imported raw material i.e. fabrics. Whether the unit is entitle for benefit of concessionary rate of sales tax as admissible to manufacturer/industrial undertaking under the provision of SRO 1125(1)/2011 dated 31.12.2011 or otherwise”, they further said.
