KARACHI: Director General of Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Shaukat Ali hailed the performance of the Customs officers.
The Director General of Directorate General paid a surprise visit to the Karachi Directorate and held meetings with the director Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Tahir Qureshi as well as Director Enforcement Samina Tasleem Zohra.
During the meeting, the Director General reviewed the progress of the ASO. Director ASO Tahir Qureshi gave detailed briefing on the overall progress and operations of the department.
Shaukat Ali appreciated the ASO team and directed the director to further boost surveillance and beef up checking. He also asked the ASO team to spread the blanket of informers to curb smuggling as well as tax evasion.
The director ASO also informed Director General I&I regarding the issues faced by them on which DG Ali assured his full support to tackle the pressure by any side.
The Director General also held meeting with the Director Enforcement Samina Tasleem Zohra and examined the performance report submitted by the department head.
The sources informed Custom Today that the Director General of Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Shaukat Ali gave a surprise visit and the Directorate was informed about his arrival only an hour ago.
The Director General Shaukat Ali reached Karachi on a very short visit on Thursday at 10:00pm by Flight No PK319 of Pakistan International Airline (PIA), the source further informed.
