DG Customs Intelligence Shaukat Ali to hold important meetings in Lahore on 2-day visit

ISLAMABAD: Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation FBR Shaukat Ali will reach Lahore today on two day visit. He will chair the meeting at office of the Lahore Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate. Director Customs I&I Lahore Ch Zulfiqar Ali and other officials will attend the meeting.

The basic purpose of this visit is to review the performance of the Lahore Directorate and discuss the strategy for curbing smuggling and illegal trade.

According to the sources, Director Lahore Directorate will brief the Director General regarding the latest progress on the money laundering case of M/s Marush International.

It is pertinent to mention here that in month of February, Lahore Directorate General had taken action against the poultry medicine importer company M/s Marush International on the charges of money laundering, fiscal fraud and tax evasion. The recoverable amount was Rs. 200 million.

It is expected that officers of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad and Sailkot will also participate in the meeting.
