KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has determined the customs value of fresh ginger, dry ginger and garlic superseding the earlier Valuation Ruling No.574/2013 dated 20-8-2013.
According to the Valuation Ruling that determined the customs value of fresh ginger, dry ginger and garlic at C and F $/kg include: fresh garlic under PCT Code 0910.1100 China 0.80, Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar $0.75 and India via Land route at $0.70
While, dry ginger under PCT 0910.1100 and 0910.1200 from China at $2.00, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nigeria, Myanmar and India at $1.90. And, garlic under the PCT Code 0703.2000 from China and Chile at $0.80, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar and India via land route at $0.75.
In cases where declared/transaction values are higher than the Customs values determined in this ruling, the assessing officers shall apply those values in terms of Sub-Section (1) of Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969.
In case of consignments imported by air, the assessing officer shall take into account the differential between air freight and sea freight while applying the Customs Values determined in this ruling.
The values determined vide this ruling shall be applicable Customs value for assessment of subject imported goods until andunless it is rescinded or revised by the competent authority in terms of Sub-Sections (1) or (3) of Section 25-A or section 25-D of the Customs Act, 1969.
The Ruling supersedes Valuation Ruling No 574/2013 dated 20-8-2013.
