DG Customs Valuation determines values of furnishing fabrics

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation determined the customs values of furnishing fabrics vide Valuation Ruling No 765/2015.

The customs values of cotton fabric were determined under Section 25-A of the Customs Act, 1969.

According to details, the Appraisement-West pointed out that fabric values determined by the directorate needs upward revision keeping in view the international prices.

Therefore, an exercise to determine customs values of cotton fabric under Section 25-A of the Customs Act, 1969 was initiated.

As per the valuation ruling,  woven furnishing fabric for sofa and curtain and accessories made of textile imported from China and Bangladesh would be assessed to C&F $ 4.50 per kg, UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Turkey at $ 4.75 per kg, Europe, USA and Canada $ 5.50 per kg.

And woven furnishing fabric for sofa and curtain (valvet) imported from China and Bangladesh would be assessed to C&F $ 4.50 per kg, UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Turkey at $ 4.75 per kg, Europe, USA and Canada $ 5.50 per kg.

While, knitted furnishing fabric (sued/flocking and valvet) imported from China and Bangladesh would be assessed to C&F $ 4.50 per kg, UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Turkey at $ 4.75 per kg, Europe, USA and Canada $ 5.50 per kg.
