DG Customs Valuation determines values of porcelain ware/glass

KARACHI: The Directorate General of the Customs Valuation has determined the customs values of porcelain ware/glass vide Valuation Ruling 788/2015.

The practice to determine the customs values of porcelain ware/glass was undertaken under Section 25(A) of the Customs Act, 1969.

According to details, the customs values of porcelain ware/glass were determined vide Valuation Ruling No 625/2014. However, M/s Trend International agitated the price of crockery from UAE, saying that the values had been determined on the higher side.

The competent authority remanded the same with the instructions that customs values of porcelain ware from UAE origin may be revisited after giving fair consideration to the contentions of the importers. While the case was under scrutiny, the Sindh High Court also ordered early revision of the valuation ruling.

Accordingly, the revised customs values of tableware, kitchenware, other household articles, of porcelain or China (non-gold plated) under PCT chapter 69.11 of China origin is at $ 0.75/kg, Indonesia $0.75/kg, Iran $0.81/kg, UAE $0.75/kg, Malaysia $1.10/kg, Thailand $1.10/kg, Korea $1.10/kg, Europe/USA/Canada $1.45/kg and customs values of all other origin goods is $1.30/kg.

The revised customs values of tableware, kitchenware, other household articles, of porcelain or China (Gold plated) under PCT chapter 69.11 of China origin is at 0.97/kg, Indonesia $0.97/kg, Iran $1.0/kg, UAE $0.97/kg, Malaysia $1.30/kg, Thailand $1.30/kg, Korea $1.30/kg, Europe/USA/Canada $1.90/kg and customs values of all other origin goods is $1.50/kg.

The revised customs values of glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, indoor decoration or similar purposes (Clear /Opal) under PCT chapter 70.13 of China origin at 0.89/kg, Indonesia $0.68/kg, Iran $0.75/kg, UAE $0.89/kg, Malaysia $1.0/kg, Thailand $1.0/kg, Egypt$1.0/kg, Korea $1.0/kg, Brazil $1.0/kg, Turkey $1.0/kg, Saudi Arabia $0.92/kg, Europe/USA/Canada $1.37/kg and customs values of all other origin goods is $1.25/kg.

The revised customs values of glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, indoor decoration or similar purposes (Gold plated) under PCT chapter 70.13 of China origin at 1.05/kg, Indonesia $0.89/kg, Iran $0.95/KG, UAE $1.05/kg, Malaysia $1.21/kg, Thailand $1.21/kg, Egypt $1.21/kg, Korea $1.21/kg, Brazil $1.21/kg, Turkey $1.21/kg, Saudi Arabia $1.05/kg Europe/USA/Canada $1.84/kg and customs values of all other origin goods is $1.60/kg.
