DG Customs Valuation in Malaysia to attend seminar on ITFA

KARACHI: Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed has reached Malaysia to attend a seminar on the Implementation of Trade Facilitation Agreement (ITFA) where senior officials from other countries will also participate.

Source informed Customs Today that the program will be held in cooperation with the US International Trade Administration.

During the consultation process, the Malaysian, US, Pakistani and other international experts will discuss best practices under the World Trade Organization Agreement and the participants will learn from the experiences of Malaysian trade and Royal Malaysian Customs (RMC) officials in implementing the important trade facilitation reforms along with other.

From the Pakistani side Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed is participating and at the event will also deliver a comprehensive address on the Implementation of Trade Facilitation Agreement.

The source informed that, the main object of the event is to share the experiences and take advantage of the skills from one and other as well as to strengthen better relations among the countries. Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed who is in Malaysia on official visit will attend the office after Eidul Azha.

On the other hand till the arrival of the Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed, the Acting Director General Customs Valuation Abdul Rasheed Shaikh is already looking after the affairs of the Directorate General of Customs Valuation.
