DG Customs Valuation revises values of monosodium glutamate

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation, Directorate Karachi has revised the customs values of monosodium glutamate vide Valuation Ruling No. 823/2016.

According to Director Customs Valuation Dr Wasif Memon, the importers were demanding revision in prices of the product claiming that there was decline in the prices in the international market. Accordingly, to ascertain the current prices prevailing in the international market, an exercise to re-determine the customs values of monosodium glutamate was undertaken.

The customs values of monosodium glutamate (Ajinomoto brand) under PCT heading 2922.4210 of all origins are fixed at $1.70/ kilogram in bulk packing and $1.90/ kilogram in retail packing.

The customs values of monosodium glutamate (all other brands) under PCT heading 2922.4210 of all origins are fixed at $1.27/ kilogram in bulk packing and $1.50/ kilogram in retail packing.
