DG Excise and Taxation instructs officers to improve recoveries

LAHORE: Director General Excise and Taxation Ahmad Aziz Tarar has urged the officers to concentrate on recoveries and increase the revenue of the department.

Ahmad Aziz Tarar has issued special instructions to increase Revenue especially for those Directors who are not successful to get their targets. Number of directors of the Department and Excise and Taxation officers has failed to achieve their targets of first six months. In special instructions DG Tarar has directed all officers to get serious and work hard to get their targets as soon as possible.

Only property tax in few regions has been collected up to satisfactory extent otherwise all of the levy are below the targets. Region “A” Region “B” are satisfactory and have achieved big lot of their targets but collection of Region “C” is not up to the mark. These Three Regions are of Lahore who have performed better in property tax but other taxes are not as per set targets.

Region Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal and Multan have badly failed to achieve their targets even of property taxes, which is much better in other Regions of Punjab. Region Gujranwala and Rawalpindi have also also not up to the mark in tax collections.
