DG Tarar strictly advised the officers to collect a minimum of 80 percent of their respective targets by the end of this month.

Ahmad Aziz Tarar has issued special instructions in this regard, especially to those directors who were unable to achieve their targets.

He summoned the officers along with their record of property tax recoveries and asked them to show all pending amounts. The Excise and Taxation officers presented the record of recoveries as well as defaulters of commercial and residential property tax.

Only property tax in few regions has been collected up to satisfactory mark; otherwise all other taxes are collected below the targets.

The performance of Region-A and Region-B remained satisfactory as they achieved a big portion of their targets, but collection of Region-C was not up to the mark. These three regions are lagging behind in collection of taxes other than property tax.

Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal and Multan have badly failed to achieve their targets, even that of property tax, while the situation was much better in other regions of Punjab. Gujranwala and Rawalpindi are also not up to the mark in tax collection.
