DG I&I IR raids Bahria Town property dealer

ISLAMABAD: Directorate-General Intelligence & Investigation Inland Revenue team raided the premises of M/s Khurram Property Zone Bharia Town and seized laptops, cheque books and documents about sale and purchase of plots.

According to a press release, IR team received credible information that a property dealer namely Khurram Latif who is running a property business in Bahria Town is operating benami and fake accounts in Habib Metropolitan Bank Bahria Town and he made transactions worth billions of rupees through these accounts.

The press release stated that the team of Inland Revenue summoned the concerned persons whose name is being used in fake summoned and take oath that he is not operating any bank account. After his denial IR team decided to raided the premises of M/s Khurram Property Zone .

During investigations it was also revealed that the signatures which were used for opening of account are found fake. Inland Revenue team also found that these bank transactions are not mentioned in the annual property returns submitted by Khurram Latif.

Investigations are still going on till the filing of this report.
