DG-Internal Audit Dr Owais Agha reviews yearly performance of department

KARACHI: Director General of Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs Dr Owais Agha Jawwad has called a meeting of the officers in order to review the performance of the directorate during the entire year of 2016.

The meeting was attended by Director Internal Audit-Customs Imtiaz Ahmed and other senior officers of the Directorate General. During the meeting, the director general was briefed on the performance of the directorate during the year. Briefing the meeting, Director-Internal Audit Imtiaz Ahmed said that the department has constituted and established audit-paras of around Rs 1,800 million.

“Audit-paras related to the cleared consignments of steel, plastic, auto-parts, chemicals and pharmaceuticals are included which have been prepared and sent to the respective collectorates for further settlements,” the director said.

Ahmed also said that most of the audit-paras were being prepared in the cleared consignments of steel pallets, adding that around that the audit-paras of Rs 950 million related to the consignments of steel pallets were established.

He said that most of the audit-paras were sent to the Appraisement West for settlement following the MCC-Appraisement (East) and MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim.

The director general expressed his satisfaction over the working of the department during the year and asked the director to compile a detailed report so that the same could be sent to the FBR Headquarters.
