DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) DG Khan has impounded a non-customs paid foreign origin used Honda Civic car. The market value of the car is Rs 3 million.
Sources told that Additional Collector Ali Imam Gardezi received information regarding smuggling of the vehicle. After receiving the information Superintendent Hassan Muhammad constituted a raiding team comprising Inspector Abdul Samad, Muhammad Khalid, Mohsin Faiz and others to take stern action against smuggled vehicles.
The ASO staff intercepted a cut and weild Honda civic car bearing registration no: LRA-5097 model 2004 as per seat belt in light gray colour with fully automatic remote control under Section 157 of Customs Act 1969.
The ASO team asked its owner to produce legal documents regarding possession of the car but he failed to produce the same. After his failure ASO team seized the Honda Car and registered a case against owner of the vehicle.
Collector Muhammad Saleem has advised the Anti Smuggling Organization ASO to keep strict vigilance and make all out efforts to curb this menace. Customs DG khan has tightened the noose around smugglers and almost eliminated movement of smuggled goods.
