DG Lutfullah orders employees to mark biometric attendance

ISLAMABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director General Lutfullah Virk has decided to take stern action against employees who are not adopting the habit of using biometric attendance system.

As per the detail, Lutfullah Virk said that employees who did not mark their attendance using the biometric system will be considered absent from office.

He further warned that department will discontinue the performance allowance of non-compilers in this regard.

In this regard, Headquarters Deputy Director Khaldoonul Haq has issued a circular on the directives of DG Lutfullah Virk. It has been said in the circular that the department has installed the biometric attendance system at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation offices, but unfortunately, when the attendance sheet was checked, most officials were found absent.

Haq informed all employees that there was no other acceptable system for attendance except for the biometric system.

He further said that all employees who did not mark attendance through biometric will be considered absent at first level, while performance allowance will be discontinued on not marking attendance in biometric.

Employees were directed to use biometric attendance system while entering or exiting the office, he directed. If the employees did not following the directives of DG Lutfullah Virk, action will be taken against the officials under the Government Servants Efficiency & Discipline Rules.
