DG PCA Sumaira Nazir orders stern action against five fake construction companies

ISLAMABAD: Director General Post Clearance Audit Sumaira Nazir has refused to accept any pressure and influence on the scam of five fake importer construction companies. She has directed the officers concerned to register cases against the companies in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Customs Act 1969.

According to sources, a group of retired senior officers approach the authorities and a representative of the construction companies also tried to contact the Directorate General a few days ago, but they all failed to got any encouraging response from the department.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Post Clearance Audit had unearthed a scam of financial fraud and mis-declaration allegedly by five Lahore based fake construction companies. Sources alleged that the companies, M/s Sun Construction, M/s Bisma International, M/s JP Construction and Trading Company, M/s H. Ali Construction Company and M/s Bitumen Traders, were involved in smuggling of prime movers.

It is important to mention here that there was also pressure of previous retired director general for the transfer of these cases to Directorate General Post Clearance Audit Lahore but she refused to accept the influence.
