DG Robina Wasti inaugurates two months training for newly recruited BS-16 officers

LAHORE: Directorate General Training and Research Director General Robina Wasti has inaugurated two months long training session for the newly recruited appraising, valuation, investigation officers and inspectors of Customs Central Region in Lahore.

Robina Wasti told Customs Today that the training has been organized for the newly recruited BS-16 officers who have been recruited after a cumbersome, transparent and merit based process.

The training has been held in collaboration with the Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS), the Punjab University. As many as 54 male and female participants will be trained on various customs related subjects including Customs Act, HS codes, import and exports procedures and investigation.

She said that the basic objective of the training is to impart the officers’ basic rules and regulation of customs enabling them to apply bylaws in the professional life.

“Such training of the officers have always proved instrumental in bringing about a positive change in the department,” she highlighted.

On the occasion, Director Customs Intelligence and Investigations Faisalabad Zulfiqar Younas told Customs Today that being the backbone of the department training of the officer of BS 16 has immense importance.

He said the Directorate of Training and Research has taken a far reaching initiative by launching two month long training of the officers.

“When these officers will be given postings after the due completion of their basic departmental training they will defiantly make a difference professionally and perform accurately and efficiently,” Younas stated.

The two months training of the offices has been arranged by Lahore Customs Training & Research Director Saima Shahzad while Deputy Director Kanwal Ali will supervise the session. On the occasion, Multan Collectorate Collector Saud Imran and others were also present.
