DG Shaukat directs officials to file tax returns timely

ISLAMABAD: Following directions of the Federal Board of Revenue, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director General Shaukat Ali has ordered all employees of grade 1 to 16 to submit receipts of filing of annual tax returns to the directorate.

The employees who have taxable income will file their returns on a regular basis and submit receipts to the office, the DG ordered. He said that all officials will follow the conditions, which are necessary to avail performance allowance, adding that not following the rules will impose bad impact on the their performance allowance.

After visiting Karachi, the DG held meeting with officials in Islamabad office and reviewed the performance of all directorates in the light of their reports and issued necessary directions. It may be mentioned here that the DG during his visit to Karachi hold meetings with intelligence officials and directed them to enhance vigilance against smuggling.

He also ordered the official to reach office timely and mark attendance through biometric system, adding that the official who will mark late attendance will be considered absent.

He also directed the officials for whom wearing uniform is compulsory to wear uniform while performing duties, adding that negligence in this record will not be tolerated. He directed the additional director and deputy director headquarter to implement the orders and directives.
