KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation is developing database values and issuance of reference values of imported items which have started yielding results.
Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed has devised a plan to streamline values of imported values to check under-invoicing, which was not only causing revenue loss to the exchequer, but also had been deprived the local manufacturers of level playing field.
The Directorate General initiated an exercise to develop database values for different items wherein it had been observed that declarations were of wide range and did not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in the international market. The reference values of Samsung Blue Ray 3D/DVD home model 456k of China under PCT 8518.5000 of China were fixed at $110/pc.
The reference values of Samsung Blue Ray 3D/DVD home theater model J5550K/J5550WK of China under PCT 8518.5000 of China are fixed at $225/pc. The reference values of Samsung Tablet upto 7-inch with SIM of China are $60/pc without SIM at $55/pc. The reference values of Samsung Tablet up to 10-inch with SIM of China are $84/pc without SIM at $78/pc. The reference values of Samsung Tablet upto 12.2-inch with SIM of China are $142/pc without SIM at $135/pc.
The reference values of Amazon Tablet up to 7-inch with SIM of China are $35/pc without SIM at $30/pc. The reference values of Amazon Tablet up to 9-inch with SIM of China are $51/pc without SIM at $45/pc. The reference values of Amazon Tablet up to 10-inch with SIM of China are $54/pc without SIM at 48/pc. The reference values of Alcatel Tablet up to 7-inch with SIM of China are $35/pc without SIM at $30/pc.
