DG Valuation issues reference values of virtual reality glass, mosaic tiles

KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Valuation has issued the reference values of virtual reality glass / box 2.0 and glass mosaic tiles.

According to the details, Directorate General Valuation has initiated an exercise to develop database values for different items wherein it has been observed that declarations are of wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in the international market. During the scrutiny of previous clearance data, it has been observed that virtual reality glass ‘ box 2.0 falling under PCT heading 8521.9090 are being assessed at different values and certain transactions are on very low side.

The Directorate General Customs Valuation, after carefully examining the clearance data, also conducted market inquiries to verify the authenticity of declarations. Online prices were also obtained to corroborate the findings of the market surveys.

Directorate General Valuation has found that the customs values of virtual reality glass / box 2.0 of China origin is US$4.40 per piece and glass mosaic tiles of China origin are US$2.90 per kilograms.

This Directorate General has initiated an exercise to develop database values for different items wherein it has been observed that declarations are of wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in the international market. During the scrutiny of previous clearance data, it has been observed that Glass Mosaic Tiles falling under PCT heading 7016.1000 are being assessed at different values and certain transactions are on very low side.

This Directorate General, after carefully examining the clearance data, also conducted marketinquiries to verify the authenticity of declarations.

These values are, however, for reference/guidance only and final assessment may please be made after considering other factors which have bearing on the customs value.
