KARACHI: A major diesel shipment from Europe has reached Pakistan, as a Liberia-flagged vessel carrying fuel docked at Port Qasim on Tuesday.

According to port authorities, the vessel transported approximately 57,650 metric tonnes of diesel from Amsterdam, marking a significant addition to the country’s fuel supplies.

The ship has anchored at the Fotco Terminal, where the unloading process is set to begin. Officials confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been finalised to ensure smooth and timely discharge of the fuel consignment.

Energy sector experts say such imports are vital for maintaining supply stability, particularly amid fluctuating global oil markets and rising domestic demand.

The arrival of the shipment is expected to ease pressure on fuel availability and support industrial and transport sectors across the country.

Authorities continue to monitor fuel supply chains closely to avoid shortages and ensure uninterrupted distribution nationwide.
