Director Anti-Corruption takes stern action against corrupt officials

SIALKOT: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Director Shehzad Saeed has stopped ACE’s assistant director technical branch Muhammad Ahmed and sub-engineer Amjad Mehmood  from performing their duties, besides terminating reader circle officer (headquarters) Mehdi Khan and head constable Sajjad Khan (Sialkot) from their jobs on the allegations that they gave benefits to suspects after extorting heavy amounts from them.

The director told Customs Today that the ACE conducted a secret inquiry against the officials, which proved them guilty in several corruption cases.

The ACE director has recommended stern action against the accused assistant director Muhammad Ahmed and sub-engineer Amjad Mehmood and asked them to report to the office of Director General of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab, in this regard.

According to Shehzad Saeed, the above mentioned ACE officials had provided maximum relief to the accused after taking bribe from them. The director said that authorities are trying their best to purge the ACE of corrupt officials.
