PCA Director Gul Rehman tells staff to ensure early completion of audit reports

KARACHI: Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Director Gul Rehman has praised the performance of the officers during the current fiscal year and asked them to ensure early completion of audit reports pending with department due to any reason.

The director held a meeting and reviewed the cases being prepared and made by the department during the current fiscal year (FY-2015-16). The meeting was attended by the assistant directors, deputy directors and additional directors.

Gul Rehman asked the officers to send the alerts to collectorates concerned and directorates for their cases and also inquire about any missing document, which is important for analysing the cases.

The sources further said that the Karachi PCA made around 80 cases throughout the year in which billions of rupees fine/penalty have been leveled against the importers and clearing agents, who found involved in mis-declaration of consignments and tax evasion.

The sources further informed that the directorate sent cases of under-invoicing and tax evasion to the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
