Director Sadiqullah Khan’s Hyderabad I&I foils attempts to smuggle goods during different IBOs

HYDERABAD: Under the supervision of Director Sadiqullah Khan, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Sukkur seized huge quantity of smuggled goods during Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs).

As per details, Director Customs I&I Hyderabad Sadiqullah has directed Additional Director Jamshed Talpur and Superintendent Sukkur and his team to enhance the intelligence and increase vigilance to avoid transportation of smuggled goods.

Moreover, Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I Sukkur) seized 17.4 tons of foreign origin assorted fabric worth Rs18.23 million which was being transported in a trailer worth Rs5.5 million.

Earlier Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sent a letter to MCC Quetta, MCC Hyderabad and MCC Multan, and warned that for any smuggled goods seized in Lahore, the supervisory officers in MCC Quetta, MCC Hyderabad and MCC Multan will be held responsible.

Customs I&I Sukkur in a joint operation with Pakistan Rangers Jacobabad recovered large quantity of smuggled goods including Gutka, Chinese salt, cloth and chain sprocket kits worth Rs57.7 million. Earlier this week, I&I Sukkur seized 3.75 tons of polypropylene resin worth Rs4.2 million.
