Director Sadiqullah Khan’s Hyderabad I&I impounds NDP vehicles worth Rs21.515m

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) under the supervision of Director Dr. Sadiqullah Khan tightened the controls and kept extra vigilance against the organized smuggling of NDP vehicles and contraband goods.

As per details, credible information was received that four NDP vehicles would be transported from Quetta for delivery to their buyers in Punjab. The Sukkur ASO team planned and executed an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in liaison with Pakistan Rangers and successfully intercepted four NDP vehicles near Kandhkot, Sindh on the intervening night of 18th/19th September, 2019. The total worth of impounded vehicles comes out to be Rs8.5 million.

It is necessary to mention here, that with the addition of this seizure, the values of seizures during current financial year (2019-20) by Range Office Sukkur has risen to Rs26.98m million, as against cases valuing Rs21.515 million during corresponding period of last year, showing an increase of 25 percent. The range office Sukkur has seized 67,000 litres of Iranian origin POL products and other miscellaneous goods during current financial year which was contributed to almost 75 percent of the increase in seizures of the regional directorate, Hyderabad.
