Director Sadiqullah Khan’s Hyderabad I&I seizes smuggled medicines near Jacobabad

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Sukkur Range has seized huge quantity of Indian origin medicines.

Information was received through Director Sadiqullah Khan to Additional Director Jamshed Talpur regarding movement of smuggled goods from Jacobabad to Sukkur.Sources said that Indian origin medicine were smuggled into the country from Afghanistan

The ASO team intercepted a truck near Bypass Jacobabad. Checking of the vehicle led to recovery of smuggled foreign origin medicines. The driver of the vehicle could not provide a documentary evidence regarding legal import/possession of the goods.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation team registered a case against the owner of the vehicle and started further investigation.

It is pertinent to mention here that Director Sadiqullah Khan directed all anti-smuggling squads to enhance vigilance on suspected routes and adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling.
