Director Wasif revises customs values of various chemicals

KARACHI: Customs Valuation Director Wasif Memon has revised the customs values of various chemicals vide Valuation ruling No. 948/2016.

The customs values of subject chemicals to be specific methylene chloride, propylene glycol, sodium bi carbonate, calcium acetic acid derivation, calcium propionate and mono sodium glutamate were prior decided vide Valuation administering No.804/2016, 805/2016, 820/2016 and 823/2016.

There were a few representations from various shippers, brokers and exchange bodies i.e. Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association for assurance of customs values of the chemicals. Merchants asserted that the costs of subject chemicals were indicating descending pattern in the universal business sector.

Wasif Memon formed a committee comprising Additional Director Nadeem Memon, Deputy Director Shoib Raza and Principal Appraiser Safdar Abbas to determine the values of the goods afresh.
