Discuss trade, Customs proposals: Chinese vice Minister Lu Peijun meets Commissioner of the Egyptian Customs

BEIJING: Vice Minister Lu Peijun met with Mr. Abdul Azeez, Commissioner of the Egyptian Customs Authority in Cairo.

Vice Minister Lu spoke highly of the economic and trade cooperation between China and Egypt and put forward five proposals on furthering cooperation between the two Customs. Firstly, to pay attention to and take part in the development of the “Belt and Road”(the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road) project. Secondly, to implement the Agreement between the Government of the People’s Repubic China and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt Conserning Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters. Thirdly, to initiate the negotiation on mutual recognition of AEO between the two Customs. Fourthly, to promote the cooperation on capacity building. Fifthly, to intensify cooperation under the framework of the WCO China Customs Capacity Building Cooperation Fund.
