Don’t make CPEC controversial, Ahsan asks Imran

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a mega project, asking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan not to make this project controversial.

Talking to a private news channel, the minister said that he had already briefed on CPEC in all parties conference in which PTI members were also present and they reviewed the western route of the corridor and expressed their satisfaction on it.

The minister said the government was determined to protect the national project as it is a game changer for the country and region. “China private company was investing in energy sector as it is imperative to overcome the crisis to further strengthen the national economy,” he added.

Ahsan Iqbal assured that no industrial zone will be established as the country is already facing power crisis. Replying to a question, he said not a single rupee of federal government was being spent in Orange line train.
