The minister said Punjab budget 2016-17 was a developmental one and its salient features would create jobs, encourage private investment, curb terrorism and enhance security of law abiding citizens.

She said provision of quality education, health facilities and water supply projects to the masses was mission of the government. “We have put no burden on the common man in the budget while public uplift has been given priority,” she said.

Dr Ayesha said measures announced in the budget would result in poverty alleviation besides improving living standard of the masses. The government, she said, instead of new schemes had focused on ongoing projects so that these could be completed at the earliest.

She said exemplary measures had been announced in the provincial budget for prosperity of farmers and millions of farmers would benefit from subsidy of billions of rupees on fertilizers, agri implements, seeds and tube wells.

Dr Ayesha credited Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his guidance and interest during preparation of this historic budget.
