ISLAMABAD: The federal government has issued notification of reappointment of Dr Muhammad Irshad as chairman of Federal Board of Revenue, a day after his retirement.
Sources said the government reappointed Dr Irshad till June 30 or for a period of 66 days. The Grade-22 official of the Inland Revenue Service retired a day ago, upon reaching 60 years’ age.
Sources further said that a summary of his re-appointment had been forwarded to the prime minister and the premier took the decision of the officer’s reemployment while keeping budget work for the next fiscal year in view. The replacement of FBR chief at this time could hinder budget preparations, they added.
