Dr Jehanzeb Khan urges FBR officers to work professionally

LAHORE: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr Jehanzeb Khan urged the FBR officers to work thorough professionally.

Addressing the concluding session of three day International Conference on Tax, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue said that FBR officers are professional and hardworking who have been striving hard to generate important tax revenue.

He said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured to provide funds for the development and growth of FBR within the next five years and it is hoped that in the given time FBR will achieve more milestones.

He said that the officers must understand that FBR is one of the important organizations of the country and has special obligations towards the economy.

To a question about Aleema Khan tax issue, he replied that she has deposited 25 percent of the due amount and for the remaining amount she will be treated in the same manner as the other taxpayers are dealt with.

He also mentioned the five tax regimes after the NFC award and said Pakistan needed to simply the tax collection for the taxpayers.

He said that the major concern of the government is to simplify the tax system for which efforts are underway.

Indian tax expert Perkash Kumar online from India presented how the Indian tax authorities have successfully adopted ‘One Nation One Tax’ system while expert on artificial intelligence Tajamal Hussain informed about how to deal with the big data and broadening of tax base.
Director General DoT Ms Iram Adnan, Director Aftab Alam and large number of FBR officers were present in the concluding session.
